The leading causes of death in college-age adults

College age adults lead fast-paced lives and often engage in risky behavior. While school shootings, like at Virginia Tech, claim the lives of college-age adults nearly every year, collegians are more likely to die in a car crash. The top five leading killers of college-age adults:

1. Motor Vehicle Accidents- 29.7 %
2. Homicide- 17.3 %
3. Suicide- 12.98 %
4. Cancer- 5.24 %
5. Heart Disease- 3.21 %
