local universities struggle to keep campuses safe                                                                                                                                        

This multimedia webpage is the culminating project for three journalism majors at Washington and Lee University, Jenny Ratzel '07, Kristi Williams '08 and Pat McGlone '07. The goal of this project was to explore the ramifications of the Virginia Tech massacre at three local colleges in Rockbridge County, Virginia: Washington and Lee University, Southern Virginia University, and Virginia Military Institute. Administrators, security, and students themselves were interviewed to explore emotional and physical reactions to the tragedy at each of the schools.
