Some are braving the traffic into Washington to attend Pres.-Elect Obama's inauguration. Others plan to stay at home and celebrating with friends.

The VMI Corps of Cadets will march in the inauguration parade on Tuesday in Washington. This is the 13th time the 1,400-member Corps has been distinguished with this honor.

Schools respond to proposed budget cuts
Rockbridge County and Lexington schools face approximately $1.2 million and $350,000 in budget cuts, respectively. The districts will make changes in personnel and salaries, and parents worry the cuts will affect their children's educations.

Despite bank failures nationally, Cornerstone Bank will open later this month. The CEO says local ownership should improve customer service.
