With five games left, members of the Washington and Lee women’s basketball team unite in order to create a force that will result in its first winning season in seven years.

After losing the past four out of five games, the team has been placed in the bottom half of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).

However, Captain Bethany Dannelly is convinced that generals can take control in the next five games if they "play consistent and make every possession count."

The team suffered a loss when lead scorer Kristen Krouchick was injured during the Emory and Henry game. Despite Krouchick being benched the last three games, the team remains hopeful and responds with strength.

"I think that the fact we played as well as we did Saturday without Kristen," said Krouchick, "really says something about the freshman stepping up and coming in and playing well."

The generals are driven to gain three wins which will tie the team record for wins in a season.

Coach Terri Dadio Campbell is hopeful of a positive outcome.

"If we take it one practice at a time and one game at a time, everything else will fall into place," she said. "My team is at a point where they know there is going to be a breakthrough."
