Police say 17 car accidents were reported in Rockbridge County in the 24 hours following the five- inch snowfall on Wednesday--triple the number on an average day. By Wednesday night, all hard surface roads and 90 percent of dirt roads had been plowed. Rockbridge County mayor John Knapp and Board of Supervisors Chairman Harvey Hotinger break ground for the new courthouse beneath the Nelson St. bridge. The Museum of the Confederacy, which could potentially relocate to Lexington's old courthouse, is currently located in Richmond. The museum is home to the largest collection of U.S. Civil War artifacts. Wendell's Barbershop, owned by Wendell Baker, has been open for 38 years. With such loyal clientele, Baker thinks of his business more as a hobby than work. Washignton and Lee University unveiled an authentic Japanese tea room last Saturday. The "Tea Gala" presented the six-mat classroom to the public and involved a tea ceremony, complete with a sweet and highly-caffeinated Japanese green tea. Students will perform in the Neil Simon comedy, "Oscar and Felix, A New Look at the Odd Couple." The show details the ridiculous antics of two very opposite friends forced to share an apartment together.
