While one American Idol winner picked up two Grammys this week, a local university held its own version of the popular talent competition.
Local residents competed for fame and bragging rights Wednesday night for VMI Idol, which was held at Salerno's restaurant on Jefferson Street.
Three finalists were chosen by the judges. They will compete at halftime of the game against Liberty College on February 21.
