New additions at the Virginia Military Institute are part of a renovation and expansion project expected to be complete in 2039. A new bookstore, which is part of the Barnes and Noble franchise, and restaurants like Quiznos are now in business in the newly constructed Third Barracks. The Institute hopes to increase the size of its corps to 1,500.
