Pirouette. Arabesque. Plie. Attitude, attitude.

Washington and Lee students twirled and toe-pointed across the Keller Stage when the Moscow Festival Ballet came to town this week.

The Russian ballet, under the direction of Sergei Radchenko, performed on campus for two consecutive nights. The Classic productions Don Quixote and Giselle, lit up the Keller Theatre.

After the performance on Wednesday, the company held an open master class and invited the community to participate.

Eleven W&L students took part in the class, including sophomore Ellie Hanson. Hanson raved about the experience.

"It was a really big honor to get to take class with them. I think everyone just thought that their ballet mistress would just teach class. So actually getting to watch them take a class was really amazing. And all of them were pretty much perfect."
