Two dozen Virginia rest stops face closure

The Virginia Department of Transportation might be eliminating more than half of the state’s 41 rest areas.  While many officials and residents in the Valley of Virginia are lashing back about these closures, some in Rockbridge County see a brighter side for local businesses.

Details have emerged about what might have caused the fire at Washington and Lee University’s Pi Kappa Phi fraternity house on East Washington Street in Lexington.  While the cause has not yet been determined, two Washington and Lee public safety officers explain what they saw on the front lines.

While unemployment continues to rise across the country, job opportunities in Natural Bridge seem plentiful.  Nearly 200 people attended a job fair last weekend to vie for positions as waiters, tour guides, and landscapers – or anything they could get.
