Student leader earns highest
campus life honor
The Unsung General of the Year award seeks to recognize those students who contribute to University life in ways not often seen by the larger community. It carries a $500 prize for the winner, and an additional $500 that will be donated to a local or campus organization of the winner's choice.
"Being involved in the community has always been important to me," says Lidinsky." After her freshman year, she took on the role of public relations chair for the NSL, and volunteers at the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic for her personal enjoyment.
Lidinsky also participates in W&L's Shepherd Program for the study of poverty and human capability. Through the program, she has interned at various organizations that provide comprehensive services to the medically vulnerable. "My work there has encouraged me to pursue a primary care practice for the underserved once I complete University of Maryland Medical School," said Lidinsky.
Lidinsky has decided to make the $500 donation to the Nabors Service League. "I am so impressed by all the efforts of our Nabors Contact Committee and the many wonderful activities that they make happen throughout the Lexington/Rockbridge Community," she said.
"I hope people will continue to become more involved in the organization." |
