Time running out for landfill
Local officials are brainstorming proposals to replace Rockbridge County’s landfill. A 1997 order requires that the unlined landfill be shut down. Proposals for a new facility include a full-service plan to recycle materials.
Cigarette prices have jumped up a dollar in some Virginia stores. The price increase comes before a 62-cent cigarette tax comes into effect on April 1st. Local smokers are not happy about the tax and price increases. The money generated from the tax will go toward children's health.
The Nelson Fine Arts Gallery is showcasing Rockbridge County High School students’ work until the end of the month. The display honors National Youth Art Month.
Lexington schools
