Two candidates left in Buena Vista
as former mayor Kidd drops out

(GEIGER / Rockbridge Report)

Buena Vista has welcomed numerous new businesses to town this year, but the city's economic struggles aren't over yet. The city has been hit hard by factory closings in the last 10 years. Job creation and taxes are likely to be the top issues when voters head to the polls on May 6 to elect a mayor and three city council members. Mayoral candidates include Houston Staton and Mike Clements. Former Mayor Harold Kidd dropped out of the race this week.
