Beauty queens from across Rockbridge County worked the stage March 24 in the Little Miss Rockbridge pageant.

The contestants, who ranged from one to 18 years old, participated in formal wear, western, talent and swimsuit competitions.

Pageant officials stressed the success of the pageant comes from the enthusiasm of the local participants. Some liked being on stage so much, they had to be dragged off.

The pageant has been a part of Rockbridge County for over 40 years.
