Rockbridge Area Transportation Service (RATS) now provides service to area residents  through a demand response system. The organization hopes to expand its service in the near future.

Some may point to rising gas prices, while others speak out about the isolation of individuals without access to transportation. In the end, however, most individuals in the community agree that public transportation is an issue that Rockbridge County will have to consider in coming years.

Local non-profit agencies are now looking to tackle the issue, out of necessity for their own survival and to increase the well-being of community members.
