Rising gas prices might mean longer rides for kids

Rockbridge County school buses are taking different routes this year in an attempt to save money on fuel. The moves means slightly fuller buses and longer trips for some students.

College students could sway election

Liberty University promises to loosen its rules on election day in an attempt to get its 10,000-plus students to the polls. With Virginia as a likely swing state in the presidential election, students are eager to make their vote count.

YMCA holding "coffeehouse" event

The Rockbridge Area YMCA will host its first “coffeehouse” program Friday evening from 6:30 to 8:30. The event features entertainment, snacks and socializing for people age 16 and up who have disabilities. The YMCA plans to hold the event on the fourth Friday of every month.
