Puppets, music entertain at festival

These aren't your ordinary entertainers. Volunteers hoisted 20-foot puppets high into the sky during the Harvest Spectacle performance.
(REBECCA BRATU/ Rockbridge Report)

Giant puppets led the way for the area's  first Harvest Spectacle Sept. 20. While the fall festival at Boxerwood Nature Center & Woodland Garden is an annual event, this was the first time the Harvest Spectacle, a theatrical production featuring gigantic puppets, was included. Spectacle mastermind Stephanie Hodde was pleased with the Spectacle’s success and hopes it will become a permanent event.
