Democratic challenger Jim Webb came to Lexington in his combat boots last week, highlighting the fact that local voters are part of a highly symbolic political race getting national attention. Republican Sen. George Allen of Virginia is fighting to keep his seat.

Facebook isn't just for students anymore

College and high school networking site Facebook.com opened to the public Tuesday. Anyone with an e-mail address can now post profiles and network with “friends,” on the site, which boasts more than 9.5 million registered users. Area students consider their use of Facebook in light of the change.
