For these two VMI cadets, taking a break from school meant spending a tour in Iraq. Lance Cpl. Nate Salatin and Cpl. Mike Berman were among about a dozen cadets who returned to VMI this fall to finish their degrees.

Study: Dam at Jordan's Point 'unsafe'

A recent engineering study found Jordan’s Point dam structurally unsafe and severely deteriorated.  But the city has refuted claims that it was negligent in a lawsuit filed by the father of a local boy who drowned after being swept over the hundred-year old dam.

The Rockbridge Area Relief Association's Food Pantry debuted its new refrigerated truck Tuesday. The truck will deliver food to three locations in Lexington to feed disabled and elderly people who can't make it to the pantry.
