City seeks safer walking for students

Superintendent Dan Lyons says that walking to school is increasingly popular with Waddell Elementary and Lylburn Downing Middle School students. Traffic engineers have recommended improvements for making walking routes safer.

Many Virginia candidates refuse test

More than half of Virginia congressional candidates have declined to take a test that would help voters identify the candidates' positions on many major issues. Of the four candidates in Virginia’s Senate race, only one has taken the test.

Holidays come early to merchants
