Through saliva:

·       Breathing in droplets from someone who coughed or sneezed

·       Sharing utensils, cups

Swollen salivary glands, plus flu-like symptoms:

·       Fever

·       Headache

·       Muscle aches

·       Tiredness

·       Loss of appetite

 

Rare, but very serious:

·       Meningitis

·       Encephalitis

·       Orchitis

·       Oophoritis

·       Mastitis

·       Spontaneous abortion

·       Deafness
