Election day information

Where to vote: The 1,312 registered voters of of Lexington vote at the Lifesaving Crew Building at 350 Spotswood Dr.

Rockbridge County's 12,787 registered voters are split up among 17 precincts. Find out where you go to vote here

When to vote: All precincts are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

County Registrar Carolyn Rendleman and City Registrar Marylynn Earhart both say polls are busiest in the morning as people are on their way to work and in the afternoon as people head home from work. Rendleman also said the lunch hour is a popular time to vote. Rendleman says midmorning and midafternoon are the slowest times of the day.

At the polls: To qualify to vote registered voters should bring a government issued ID, an employer issued photo ID or their voter card to the polls.

High School students will be working as pages to assist voters as they enter and leave the precincts, and will be on hand to explain how to use the electronic voting machines. 

Lexington's voting precinct will have four voting machines, and can add more if the flow of voters justifies it. The majority of Rockbridge County's polling places will have two machines. But the county's two largest precincts, Airport and Highland Belle will have three.
