Lexington part of nationwide protest against the war in Iraq

by Bibeka Shrestha

A small group of protestors met outside Rockbridge County courthouse Wednesday to voice their strong disapproval of the war in Iraq. The demonstration was organized by Joseph Crosbie, a 17-year old from Rockbridge County. It was one of many protests around the country scheduled on the anniversary of Bush's re-election.

With protest songs playing on a stereo and homemade signs, the demonstrators hoped to gain signatures for a call to oust President George W. Bush from his presidency.
