Hanger beats Cox, Sime

Emmett Hanger has represented Virginia's 24th district for twelve years. And, despite the best efforts of Libertarian candidate Arin Sime and Democrat David Cox, he will be returning to Richmond to serve another term.

Hanger ran a silent campaign in Lexington, counting mostly on his incumbency to stay in the Senate. He also raised more than $300,000, and is still sitting on about $100,000. The other two candidates raised a combined total of about $80,000.

Hanger could not be reached for comment.
