Cline easily retains his delegate seat; Kaine declared Virginia's governor

After a spirited campaign, Republican Del. Ben Cline hammered political newcomer Democrat David Cox Tuesday with 65 percent of the vote. This marks Cline's third district win since 2002.

Democrat Tim Kaine won the Virginia governor's race Tuesday, soundly defeating Republican Jerry Kilgore in a contest for a GOP-leaning state that was closely watched by political analysts for signs of the public's mood ahead of next year's midterm elections.
