Democrat Tim Kaine was elected governor Tuesday, defeating Republican Jerry Kilgore in the most expensive election in Virginia history.

With nearly all precincts reporting, the lieutenant governor had 51 percent of the vote to 46 percent for Kilgore, a former attorney general. Independent Russ Potts had 2 percent. FULL STORY
