Broadway shows return
as 19-day strike ends

The lights are back on for Broadway shows after a 19-day strike by stagehands ended Wednesday.

Stagehands and theater producers reached a tentative agreement late Wednesday, which still has to be approved by union memberships, the Associated Press reported. The details of the five-year contract were not disclosed.

The strike, which affected nearly two dozen shows, is estimated to have cost producers and the city millions of dollars.
